Acoustic Treatment for Your Apartment — What Actually Works Against Noise

Noise from neighbors is one of the most common reasons clients contact us. Whether it's footsteps from upstairs, loud music, or TV through the wall — solutions exist. But be careful, not every approach actually works.

WOLF Tri Star boards — a proven solution

The most common material we use for acoustic wall treatments is the WOLF Tri Star board at 15mm thickness. These boards are made by a Greek company with decades of experience in acoustics. They're mounted directly on the wall or on a frame with mineral insulation behind them.

For more severe problems, we add Vibro foil — a special insulation layer that dampens vibrations transmitted through the structure. The combination of WOLF boards and Vibro foil is very effective even in prefab concrete apartment buildings.

How installation works

• First, a steel frame of CD and UD profiles is mounted on the wall
• Mineral wool is placed between the profiles — it absorbs sound
• WOLF Tri Star acoustic boards (15mm) are attached to the frame
• If needed, Vibro foil is added beneath the boards
• Joints are filled and boards are prepared for final painting

When acoustic treatment helps — and when it doesn't

Acoustic boards on a wall significantly help against airborne noise (speech, TV, music). For impact noise (footsteps, thuds), ceilings and floors need to be addressed too. We always recommend a personal consultation where we assess the noise source and propose the most effective solution.

What acoustic treatment costs

The cost depends on scope — treating one bedroom wall costs differently than an entire apartment. It's always individual based on the client's needs. The important thing is not to follow internet advice and to consult a professional who can assess your specific problem on-site.
